Aroma Chemicals Creative Buyer at Lush

I grew up hearing the words reduce, reuse, recycle and have always wanted to work towards a more sustainable future. Doing a degree in chemical engineering, I knew I could develop a solid foundation of skills that would allow me to do this and open up other doors if I should change my mind. 18 is very young to decide your whole future! This was proven during an internship when I put my skills into practice, helping a Scottish company become energy neutral. I now work for Lush, sourcing and creating chemicals in a regenerative way. One of my projects is figuring out the best way to process waste banana skins, not only aiming to get a banana smell, but doing this in a sustainable and responsible way. This role is not only exciting, it allows me to learn, and start to make a real difference!
