Imogen Graves

Assistant Design Manager, LM JV

I got into engineering after being wowed by the Millau viaduct bridge. I wanted to build amazing structures like that. I went to university where I studied civil engineering but it was only when I started working I realised that there’s so much more to engineering than just building bridges! I’m an assistant design manager enabling works contractor for HS2, my team is clearing the route and improving the local infrastructure ready for the railway to be built. As a civil engineer my job is mostly about building things, but actually what I do a lot of is working to break down the barriers netween all the different people on a project so they know what we building, why we doing it and how we’re going to do it in the best way possible.
